Primecore has appointed Mark McGowan as Director of Energy and Sustaining Services, strengthening the company’s capability to help clients improve the performance, resilience and sustainability of complex facilities.
Mark brings more than 25 years of experience across mechanical engineering, construction management, renewable energy, energy efficiency and high-tech facility operations.
He began his career with architectural and engineering consultancies before joining a major mechanical and electrical contractor. During his decade with the company, Mark delivered projects across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial offices, university campuses, pharmaceutical facilities and semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Driven by a longstanding interest in sustainability, Mark later founded and led his own contracting company specializing in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Over six years, he grew the business and delivered practical energy solutions across an expanding client portfolio.
Mark subsequently returned to the advanced technology sector, initially working as Project Manager on a major semiconductor facility expansion. He later moved into energy program management, with his responsibilities growing to encompass multiple sustaining support disciplines across several sites.
Over the past decade, Mark has focused on delivering measurable reductions in energy consumption, operating costs, carbon emissions and water usage. His work has also helped improve the reliability and resilience of the facilities he has supported.
As energy infrastructure becomes increasingly critical to the performance of modern operations, Mark’s appointment strengthens Primecore’s ability to provide experienced, embedded leadership across energy and sustaining services.
His appointment also reflects how Primecore wants to work with clients: bringing experienced practitioners into their organizations, understanding the wider operational objective and remaining accountable for delivering measurable outcomes.
Commenting on his appointment, Mark said he was drawn to Primecore by the company’s leadership in the advanced technology sector and its clear commitment to understanding and responding to client needs.
“I am looking forward to bringing my experience across engineering, construction, energy and facility operations to Primecore,” Mark said. “Energy performance and operational reliability are becoming increasingly important to every organization. I am excited to work with the Primecore team and our clients to deliver practical improvements that create lasting business value.”
Mark’s appointment forms part of Primecore’s continued investment in senior, practitioner-led expertise that connects strategic objectives with disciplined delivery.
